This is a great article.
When people talk about income disparity, usually they’re upset about the gap between themselves and those with more. They’re not upset about the gap between them and those with less.

Some links to check out regarding the debate over global alarming…

Miles O’Brien, of CNN’s “American Morning” fell asleep during the hearings. This is not a good sign.

Senator Inhofe talks about the overhyped global warming issue…

And David Deming, an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma, talks about his experience and the irrational hysteria regarding the issue.

But if you would like to have a partial birth abortion, or any other kind of abortion, that’s fine.

No jail time. In fact, if you need it, we can probably get the state to sponsor it.

Gore on Iraq Wed, December 6, 2006

AlGore is at it again.

He urges Bush to get out of Iraq “as quickly as possible without making the situation worse.”

This is the kicker.

“I would urge the President to try to separate out the personal issues of being blamed in history for his mistake and instead recognizing that it is not about him. It’s about our country,”

Do you see how sneaky this is? By saying this, Gore gets to keep Bush in the bad-guy-worst-mistake-in-the-entire-history-of-the-US mode while telling Bush to ignore it.

He tells Bush (supposedly) that the personal side of the mistake is not the real issue here, at the same time by his tone telling the rest of the U.S. that the personal side of the issue is…the main thing.

It’s like telling someone when you forgive them that you forgive them for “doing such a horrific, low-life-terrible thing.”

You’re not interested in moving on. You’re still making an issue, and making it a personal issue.

What a weasel.

Senator Clinton and a Presidential Bid Wed, December 6, 2006

If this is the first time that Hillary Clinton has considered running for President of the United States, then I’m…I don’t know what I am.

She has intended to run since before she was re-elected, but she had to be re-elected first.

Other thoughts on this.

Anyone who beleives that Hillary just “didn’t know” whether she would run for President or not is incredibly naive.

She’s known all along.

Congress to Work 5 Days a Week Wed, December 6, 2006

In the words of Rascall Flatts,

“I feel bad…that I don’t feel bad.”

Actually, I don’t feel bad at all about this.
One quote in here was from a Republican Congressman, Jack Kingston, who was sadly from my homestate.
His thoughts?

‘Keeping us up here eats away at families,’ said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. ‘Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what this says.’”

Well, Congressman Kingston, with all due respect, perhaps you should have thought of that when you tossed your hat in the ring for the job. You asked to serve.

I understand that it really does mean time away from families. And I know that that’s not fun. But it’s called work, and if it were easy, everyone would be doing it.

Come to think of it, everyone wants to be a congressman.

Not just any fat, but artificial trans-fats. So not only do we have the FDA telling us what is good for us, but we have the City of New York helping us to make the right decision.

Just what we need.

I’m anxious to hear what will come of all this. I like the senator (at least related to this issue) because he’s not afraid of the truth, and he wants to hold the media responsible for their reporting.

Muslims Love a Praying Pope Fri, December 1, 2006

So the Pope winds up praying at the end of his little trip to Turkey, and he makes Muslim leaders go googly-eyed by turning towards Mecca to say his prayers, like any good Muslim.

What kind of political posturing is this? It’s mere capitulation to threats of an often violently religious faction. I’m not saying that all Muslims are terrorists, but there seem to be a lot of terrorists who are Muslim.

“His first visit to a mostly Muslim country, held under tight security for fear of protests by nationalists and Islamists…”

This was to protect him from the people of the “peaceful religion,” many of whom were upset that the Pope thought Muhammed brought only evil and terrible things into the world.

So…I’m confused. You mean that the Pope was in danger because certain people didn’t like the fact that he said they were dangerous? Doesn’t that prove the point?

But the Pope gives them what they want in the end. Praying towards Mecca?

How syncretic can you get?
