Congress to Work 5 Days a Week Wed, December 6, 2006

In the words of Rascall Flatts,
“I feel bad…that I don’t feel bad.”
Actually, I don’t feel bad at all about this.
One quote in here was from a Republican Congressman, Jack Kingston, who was sadly from my homestate.
His thoughts?
“‘Keeping us up here eats away at families,’ said Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays. ‘Marriages suffer. The Democrats could care less about families — that’s what this says.’”
Well, Congressman Kingston, with all due respect, perhaps you should have thought of that when you tossed your hat in the ring for the job. You asked to serve.
I understand that it really does mean time away from families. And I know that that’s not fun. But it’s called work, and if it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
Come to think of it, everyone wants to be a congressman.
